Apart from a new flagship phone Sony Xperia Z2, the Japanese giant has also introduced Sony Xperia M2 and M2 Dual in the mid range segment at MWC 2014. The Xperia M2 like most other Xperia phones speaks the Omni balance design language and sports a decent spec sheet.
The display is 4.8 inches in size and bears qHD 960 x 540 pixel resolution. The base software is Android 4.3 jelly bean. Xperia M2 is only 8.64 mm thick and weighs a moderate 148 grams.
Xperia M2 is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon (MSM8928 for LTE and MSM8226 for 3G) processor paired with Adreno 305 GPU and 1 GB RAM. Internal storage is 8 GB and you can further extend it to 32 GB using MicroSD card.
The 8 MP rear camera is capable of Full HD video recording. The battery capacity is 2300 mAh and connectivity features include LTE (Optional) / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 820.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC. The phone will be available on the shelves in April 2014. Major Rival will be Moto G, which is one of the most sought after devices in India right now.
