Nokia X was listed on The Mobile store today with a list price of Rs. 8,500 with availability starting on March 15 2014. The listing was soon removed from the retailers website once it was reported. Nokia has launched Nokia X in Malaysia for $120 which roughly translates to 7,500 INR and this reduces the credibility of today’s listing on Mobile Store.
The Dual SIM smartphone is being marketed as Nokia’s first Android phone. It is heavily customized Aosp version of Android with Microsoft services and tiled interface. Nokia has not locked the boot loader, which implies that you can root the device and install Google play services too.
The budget Android phone comes with a 4 inch WVGA display with 800 x 480 pixels and is powered by 1 GHz Snapdragon dual core processor backed by 512 MB RAM. Internal storage can be extended to 32 GB using MicroSD support. Other features include 1500 mAh battery and 3 MP camera.
You still get to side load apps and according to Nokia 75 percent of Google Playstore apps will run on Nokia X as well. Microsoft is offering one month of free subscription on Skype and 10 GB of cloud storage. You can get full details of hardware and our first impression on Nokia X Hands on review. We expect Nokia X to be available for purchase in India by next week.
