iPhone 5c 8 GB now officially announced for UK

Looks like Apple is having tough time pushing its iPhone 5c (Full Review), which carries iPhone 5 hardware encased in a poly carbonate shell. After introducing several price cuts, Apple has now launched an 8 GB variant in UK via O2, which is similar to iPhone 5c except for lesser internal storage.

Going by Apple’s global retail policy so far, we can expect to see more of iPhone 5c 8 GB in several markets including India. The 8 GB variant is expected to be priced around 5,000 INR lower compared to iPhone 5c 16 GB which is retailing for around 39,000 INR in India. In UK the phone comes with 2 contracts plans starting with no initial down payment.

iPhone 5c comes with 4 inch LED Backlit IPS LCD retina display with 1.3 GHz dual core processor backed by 1 GB RAM. The phone comes with 8 MP shooter at the back and a 1.2 MP front snapper for high quality video chatting. The battery capacity is 1510 mAh and it is enclosed in several color polycarbonate casing, which definitely feels better than plastic.

An 8 GB smartphone for above 30,000 INR seems ridiculously overpriced, but Apple has managed to get away with still weirder pricing, so yeah, they might boost the sales of iPhone after all.
