Taiwanese tech firm HTC is in the headlines these days as the vendor is gossiped to remove the wraps surrounding a new lineup of smartphones. Well, the company that was once making only top-tier phones has started bombarding the market with mid-range phones in order to stay dominant in the industry and gain from market share.
A new device dubbed HTC Desire 516 has hit the rumor land confirming the company’s plans of launching new phones. This new smartphone is claimed to boast a 5 inch display and come equipped with a quad-core processor.
According to a report from PhoneArena, the next phone in the Desire lineup is said to be Desire 516 and it is rumored to be similar to Desire 816, but with a downgrade in features. Also, the Desire 516 has been spotted at TENAA, Chinese regulatory commission and it is claimed to be announced in the coming weeks.
Going by these reports, the HTC Desire 516 is said to measure 173 grams in weight and 140x72x9.7 mm in dimensions and sport a 5 inch display with a resolution of 540×960 pixels. Moreover, the TD-SCDMA variant of the handset as seen the China certificate is meant for China Mobile hinting there could be two variants of the same phone.
