Spice Stellar Mettle Icon Mi-506 with Android 4.2 out for 6,999 INR

S Mobility is back with a bang in the budget smartphone market as the company has unleashed – Spice Stellar Mettle Icon Mi-506 with a price tag of Rs 6,999. The latest phone in the company’s portfolio of Mettle series boasts a metallic body ensuring durability.


Spice Stellar Mettle Icon Mi-506 sports a 5 inch capacitive touchscreen display boasting a resolution of 480×854 pixels. The processor employed in the phone is a dual-core one clocked at 1.3 GHz coupled with Mali 400 GPU. The RAM capacity of 512 MB is accompanied with an internal storage space of 4 GB that can be expanded externally up to 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card.

In terms of software, the Spice Stellar Mettle Icon Mi-506 is fueled with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system along with Dual SIM and Dual Standby functionality. To handle the imaging requirements, there is an 8 MP autofocus  primary camera teamed up with LED flash and a 1.3 MP front-facing snapper for video calling that are average considering the price of the handset.

The battery capacity of the phone is 1,800 mAh, but there is no mention on the backup offered by this battery. Data connectivity features onboard include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS with aGPS.

Apart from these specifications, the Spice Stellar Mettle Icon Mi-506 packs software features such as Pop-up Play, Flip to Mute, Intelligent Answer, Direct Call and many others as in the Smart Flo Mettle 5X Mi-504. Taking its spec sheet into concern, the handset can be used for light gaming, making calls, browsing and other light tasks. The phone will primarily compete against Xolo A510s which also sports metallic design and similar specs in the budget price range.
