More than 2 million smartwatches were sold last year and the lion’s share belonged to Galaxy Gear, in spite of all the criticism and seemingly inflated price tag. Samsung managed to sell 1.2 million Galaxy Gear last year and the major issue with the device was its limited compatibility.
Samsung Gear 2, the Tizen OS based successor of Galaxy Gear will get some stiff competition from upcoming Android Wear devices like LG Smartwatch and Moto 360. The biggest issue with the Galaxy Gear still remains the same its limited compatibility.
Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 flaunts a 1.63 inch Super AMOLED display with 320 x 320 pixels. It is powered by a 1 GHz dual core processor backed by 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage. Other features include a microphone, 300 mAh battery, infra red LED Remote, Pedometer and Heart rate monitor.
Samsung launched Gear 2 in India yesterday with a price tag of Rs. 21,900. Samsung Claimed that it will be compatible with 17 Galaxy devices. If you dig deeper, you will notice that most of these devices are high end Galaxy Smartphones. Here is the complete list of Gear 2 compatible devices.
