Huawei has unveiled an entry level Android phone in its Y series dubbed as Huawei Ascend Y600. We exclusively discussed the arrival of this phone few months back and now Huawei has made it official. This time Huawei has opted for MediaTek chipset rather than Snapdragon 200 processor in its Y series.
Huawei has opted for a large 5 inch display in its dual core smartphone. The display features 854 x 480 pixel FWVGA resolution which means your text and images will be soft and not as sharp.
The 1.3 GHz Dual core cortex A7 based MT6572 chipset with Mali 400 GPU is coupled with 512 MB RAM and standard 4 GB internal storage, and yes, it is expandable to 32 GB using MicroSD support.
At the back a 5 MP camera is present and at the front you will get 0.3 MP front facing shooter for basic video calling. What is also missing is LED flash support for the rear camera.
The battery capacity is 2100 mAh which should last one day with moderate usage. Connectivity features include 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS. Huawei Ascend Y600 is 10.8 mm thick and weighs 180 grams.
Huawei Ascend Y600 is not meant to flaunt top notch hardware and its mass appeal will depend on how competitive the price is. We expect Huawei to announce the pricing and availability details for India pretty soon.
