Xolo teased a camera centric phone on Facebook yesterday and now this new phone, Xolo Q1010i has been listed on Xolo official webpage priced at Rs. 13, 499. Xolo Q1010i is the successor of Xolo Q1010, which is now selling for around Rs. 12,700 in India.
The standout feature is its Camera. Xolo has sourced the rear 8 MP camera unit from Sony. It features wide F2.0 aperture along with large pixel size of 1.4 micrometer. Large pixels help in more light absorption and consequently better low light performance. Covering the Sony Exmor R sensor is a 5 element lens.
Another interesting thing about Xolo Q1010i is the promise of Android 4.4 KitKat update. For now the phone will feature Android 4.2 jelly bean out of the box with some handy software additions. You can now draw ‘e’ on the lock screen to launch browser, ‘c’ for dialer and ‘m’ for camera directly from lock screen.
The OGS IPS LCD display is 5 inches in size and features 1280 x 720 HD resolution. The display is also protected by Dragon trail scratch resistant glass. On the inside, MT6582 quad core chipset is ticking at 1.3 GHz paired with 1 GB RAM and Mali 400 MP2 GPU. 8 GB internal memory is expandable by another 32 GB of MicroSD storage.
Xolo Q1010i is 8.3 mm thick and houses a 2250 mAh battery which will provide with up to 685 hours of standby time and 9.7 hours of talk time on 3G, which is impressive in this price range. Music playback time is stated at 75 hours approx and the battery will fully charge in 2.9 hours.
This is the first time a domestic player has emphasized on Camera quality rather than Megapixel count in this price range. With Moto G raining fire in 10k to 15k price segment it is a very wise move from Xolo to present a phone which offers something Moto G doesn’t. A superior quality camera and MicroSD slot. Of course we will have to test Xolo’s claims first.
