Last month, Nokia released the dual SIM budget phone – Nokia 220 in India for Rs 2,749. The handset was unleashed at the Mobile World Congress 2014 held in Barcelona in February alongside the Nokia X. Now, the Finnish smartphone maker has unveiled another budget phone called Nokia 225 alongside its dual SIM variant Nokia 225 Dual.

It is claimed that the Nokia 225 is the most affordable internet capable phone launched by Nokia. Also, the handsets feature dust and splash proof keymat. The phone is 10.4 mm thick, but Nokia is advertising it as it’s slimmest internet Phone. Based on Series 30 platform, the Nokia 225 will allow users to browse the Web faster and it will come pre-loaded with apps such as Twitter and Facebook.

Detailing on the specifications, the Nokia 225 boasts of a 2.8 inch QVGA display LCD display packing a resolution of 320×240 pixels. To capture snaps and videos, there is a basic 2 MP snapper at the rear of the phone, but there is no front-facing camera for vudei calling. Also, there is 32 GB of expandable storage support in the phone that allows users to store the necessary content.


Powering life to the Nokia 225 is a 1,200 mAh BL-4UL battery that can deliver a talk time of 21 hours and a standby time of 36 days. Connectivity is taken care of Bluetooth 3.0 and SLAM feature that allows users to share photos through Bluetooth.

Also, the Nokia 225 arrives with pre-loaded games such as Asphalt 6, Block Breaker 3, Assassins Creed 3, Read Football 2012 and The Avengers. The handset is said to be priced at EUR 39 (approx Rs 3,200) and the dual SIM variant will start shipping in the second quarter in select markets.
