A tweet from notorious Twitter leakster @evleaks shows that Nokia is striving hard to help the Windows Phone devices to gain a significant chunk of the smartphone market share. Well, the rumor is that Nokia, the sole player in this particular domain is working on a number of new devices.
As per the tweet, Nokia has eight smartphone in the pipeline and they are allegedly codenamed Ara, Leo, Moonraker, Onyx, Peridoy, Superman, Tesla and Vantage. There is no clear information about these devices and it remains a mystery if they fall in the Windows Phone or Asha lineup of phones.
Going by the previous rumors, Nokia Goldfinger that has been circulating in rumors since 2013 is left out in this roadmap of Nokia. Also, it is speculated that Superman and Moonraker could be high-end smartphones, but this is yet to be confirmed.
Nokia’s Devices and Services segment will soon become a part of software giant Microsoft and it is believed that these new phones with Windows Phone platform will hit the retail shelves only then. Anyways, there will be more information pretty soon as these phones approach their launch dates.
It is only recently that Nokia unleashed Lumia 930, Lumia 630 and Lumia 635 smartphones running on Windows Phone 8.1 at the Microsoft’s BUILD 2014 conference. It is claimed that these new phones will be made official in India starting from next month. Furthermore, Nokia has also announced that its existing lineup of Windows Phone 8 devices will be updated to the new version of the platform through the Lumia Cyan update.
