As expected Asus today launched Fonepad 7 Dual SIM in India for a competitive price tag of 12,999 which is lower than what we expected. The Fonepad 7 Dual SIM tablet features HD display and 3G connectivity and will be available in grey and black colors from tomorrow onwards in India.

The ASUS Fonepad 7 comes with a 7 inch IPS LCD display with wide viewing angles and WXGA 1280 X 800 pixel resolution. The tablet runs on Android 4.3 jelly bean operating system.

The Phone runs on 1.2 GHz Dual Core Intel Atom Z2520 chipset with 8 GB internal storage and 1 GB RAM. Asus is also offering additional 16 GB of cloud storage free for 1 year. MicroSD card support is also present for up to 64 GB of secondary storage.

Imaging hardware includes 5 MP shooter at the rear capable of full HD video recording and a 1.2 MP front camera for good quality video chat. The 11.35 mm thick chassis houses a 3910 mAh battery powering the internals.

According to Asus, battery will offer 30 hours of 3G talk time, 720 hours of 3G standby time and 10 hours of video playback which if true will be particularly impressive in this price segment.

Other features include SonicMaster built in speaker, clever floating app to conveniently switch between apps, SuperNote App with support for images and videos, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and GPS. Asus will also launch accessories like Fonepad 7 sleeve and stand cover in India.

Overall, Fonepad 7 seems like a decent proposition at its price range, especially if you are looking for calling facility, 3G or perhaps Dual SIM functionality on your tablet. It will be available for purchase starting from Tomorrow for Rs. 12,999.
