Videocon Mobiles has announced the launch of a smartphone dubbed Videocon A29 running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean carrying a price tag of Rs 5,799. Like any other budget phone this one also features Dual SIM with Dual Standby and it could be suitable for those planning to upgrade to a smartphone for the first time.
Talking of the specifications, the Videocon A29 houses a 4 inch capacitive touch screen display with WVGA resolution of 480×800 pixels and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor coupled with a mere 512 MB of RAM. The camera set in the Videocon offering is pretty basic with a 3.2 MP primary snapper and a VGA front-facing shooter for making video calls.
Also on board is a 4 GB of native storage space that can be expanded up to 32 GB via a micro SD card and connectivity features such as 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS/aGPS. The handset draws its energy from a 1,400 mAh battery that is believed to pump in decent backup levels for the dual SIM phone.
The company claims that the Videocon A29 will come bundled with a slew of software features including resizable icons and widgets, smoother user interface, great menu animations and refined predictive text input to mention a few.
Apart from these aspects, the Videocon A29 features a stylish back that looks like leather and this offers an elegant and graceful appearance to the handset. The dual SIM phone will be available in Sinful Black and Pearl White color variants.
