Lately, Chinese manufacturer Gionee has been launching a slew of smartphones in India with the recent one being the CTRL V5. Now, the vendor has come up with the Gionee P2S smartphone, which is the sequel to the P2. The dual SIM handset is available for sale from the official Gionee India eStore for a price of Rs 6,499.
Talking of technical specs, the Gionee P2S features a 4 inch WVGA capacitive touch screen display that boasts a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Also, it is stuffed with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz supplemented with Mali 400 GPU. The camera set on the smartphone includes a 5 MP primary camera teamed up with LED flash and a VGA front-facing shooter for basic video calling.
For the storage needs, there is the usual 4 GB of native storage space that can be expanded externally up to 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. Also, a mere 512 MB of RAM is given along with a 1,600 mAh battery and standard connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G and GPS.
As mentioned above, the Gionee P2S is priced at Rs 6,499 and it is available in a slew of color options such as Black, White, Blue and Pink.
The handset seems to come with compromised specs in order to keep its pricing low, but it is acceptable as an entry-level phone as it is similarly specced as the other phones in this price range. Moreover, this handset could be suitable for those consumers who are planning to upgrade to a smartphone for the very first time. Gionee being a stiff competitor for both the domestic manufacturers and international players, the latest offering could become a challenger for the other smartphones that are available in this price bracket.
