After much anticipation, Motorola announced the Moto E smartphone that has garnered the attention of both consumers and tech media to a great level. In a scenario where the entry-level market is highly dominated by the local vendors, Motorola’s way into this segment of the smartphone arena is quite critical for all the other vendors owing to the stiff competition from the global firm.
To sell its offerings in India, Motorola has tied up with online retailer Flipkart that shoots up the sales further by providing some special deals and discounts to the buyers. As an introductory offer, Flipkart has announced launch day offers announcing 50% discount on covers and 8 GB Transcend micro SD cards for the Moto E. Also, the e-commerce portal is offering free ebooks worth Rs 1,000 on the launch day.
To recap on the specs, Moto E features a 4.3 inch qHD display boasting a resolution of 960×540 pixels layered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and water-nano coating to resist water. The handset is powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset running at 1.2 GHz coupled with Adreno 302 GPU and 1 GB of RAM.
The camera on the Moto E is a 5 MP primary sensor and the handset misses out on a secondary front-facer for making video calls. Fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat, the smartphone bundles 4 GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded up to 32 GB and includes a 1,980 mAh battery.
