Answer – Yes Nokia Lumia 630 can play 720/ 1080 p videos without any trouble.
Question – How is the display?
Answer – The display is decent but the pixel density on the Lumia 630 is not very high and the lack of pixels is noticeable. The colour accuracy, colour reproduction is good and the viewing angles are also decent. Though we would have liked if the phone had a better resolution.
Question – How is the camera?
Answer – The 5 MP camera unit is a decent snapper. The pics in day light are good. The details and the clarity were good enough for us. Though the downside is the lack of LED flash, pics in low light do not turn out be good. We would have expected a secondary camera as well but in this price range the secondary camera would be of low quality and we would have rarely used it. You can view the camera and video samples in our Camera Hands On Review.
Question – Can Apps be installed to SD card?
Answer – Apps can be installed on the SD card thanks to the Windows phone 8.1 which makes it possible to do so. You can also move apps from the internal storage to the SD without any hassle. Earlier version of the OS did not support this feature.
Question – Is Cortana working on Lumia 630?
Answer – Cortana voice assistant will not feature in India’s Lumia 630. The reason is that Cortana though is believed to be better than Android and iOS (Siri) but it is dependent on Bing search by Microsoft. And Bing is not much developed in India as in US, UK and China. So this is a dull point in the Lumia 630. You can read our tutorial on how to make Cortana work outside US.
Question – Is Whatsapp working on Lumia 630?
Answer – Currently Whatsapp is not working for Windows Phone 8.1, it is currently down due to some technical reasons. But it is expected to be up and running in a short while after it’s fixed.
Question – Data connectivity option is present in action center or not?
Answer – The swipe down action center is a latest addition to the Windows 8.1 that comes preloaded in the Lumia 630. You will see expanded info about the notification bar icons and you also have a set of 4 shortcuts that you can change according to your liking. Sadly data connectivity option is not available in the quick access buttons.
Question – Does Nokia Lumia 630 has OTG support?
Answer – OTG (on the go) USB support allows a mobile phone to act as host for a flash drive and read its contents (to transfer music, for instance) but then act as a flash drive when plugged into a host computer and allow the host to read data from the device. This feature is not available for windows phone 8.1.
Question – SensorCore works efficiently or not?
Answer – Nokia SenseCore in Lumia 630 monitors, records and transfers sensor data to apps without heavily taxing your battery. The SensorCore is presently integrated with Bing Health and Fitness App and can track your steps, activities, calories burnt, etc.
Question – What comes inside the box?
Answer – The box contains the charger, the handset and that’s it. Nokia doesn’t provide a pair of headphones or USB cable within the package. I wonder how much are they going to save by doing that. The charger too is the conventional one and no detachable USB cable .
