Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ to Launch in India on May 29 Exclusively via Flipkart

Alcatel One Touch has announced that the firm will be launching a new smartphone dubbed One Touch Idol X+ in India. This is the company’s current flagship phone and the sequel to the yesteryear model – One Touch Idol X. It has been confirmed that the vendor will be launching the smartphone in India on May 29 and it has joined hands with the e-commerce portal – Flipkart for this purpose.

The Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ was launched in China in December 2013 and it was showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014 in January.

To recap on the specifications, the Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ is fitted with a 5 inch IPS display boasting a FHD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a pixel density of 441 pixels per inch. Under the hood, the device incorporates an octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor ticking at 2 GHz supported by Mali 450 GPU and 2 GB of RAM.


Running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system, the One Touch Idol X+ features a 13 MP main camera at the rear with LED flash and FHD video recording besides boasting a 2 MP front-facing snapper. Storage department is handled by 16 GB of internal storage space that cannot be extended externally as there is no micro SD card slot. Other goodies onboard are said to be Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G and a 2,500 mAh battery.

The company has confirmed that the Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ will be launched in the nation on May 29, but remains tight lipped when it comes to the pricing of the handset. We will come to know regarding its pricing and availability once the smartphone is launched.

It has to be noted that the Indian smartphone market segment is already flooded with a number of octa-core smartphones in the mid-range price bracket and the launch of Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ will make the competition fiercer.
