Gone are the days when the entry-level phones were considered to boast meager specs and feature set. These days, the manufacturers are competing with each other in releasing phones with advanced aspects in the sub Rs 10,000 price range. Following the launch of Moto E and Micromax Unite 2 bearing a price tag of Rs 6,999, Xolo has come up with an even more affordable offering – Xolo A500S Lite priced at Rs 5,499.
While there is nothing much to praise about the specifications of the Xolo A500S Lite, the handset is said to be a mere luxury phone for those with tight budgets. Well, the handset features leather finish on its back, which is its highlight.
Spec-wise, the Xolo A500S Lite is a dual SIM smartphone housing a 4 inch IPS display with a standard resolution of 800×480 pixels and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. The device is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor coupled with Mali 400 MP graphics units and a very low 512 MB of RAM.
When it comes to the storage front, the Xolo A500S Lite bundles 4 GB of onboard storage space that can be expanded externally up to 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. For imaging, the handset has a 3 MP fixed focus camera at its back with flash and HD video recording and a VGA front-facing snapper that can assist in basic video calling.
Other goodies onboard on the Xolo A500S Lite include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS and a 1,400 mAh battery that is capable of delivering up to 8 hours of talk time on 3G networks.
Lately, another India based vendor Lava announced the launch of Lava 3G 415 smartphone with almost similar specifications and faux leather back panel. This Lava phone is also priced in same price range costing Rs 5,249.
