Build Quality, Design and Form Factor
HTC Desire 816 follows a rather different design compared to other previous phones we have seen in the desire series. It is made up of good quality of plastic on edges and rear. The rear of the device has a glossy feel which makes fingerprint appear on the surface but the edges has got matte finish which gives a firm grip. It does feel very heavy at 165 grams but does feel slightly big to hold in one hand but thickness of only 8mm does give it better form factor as compared to the other phablets in the market.
Camera Performance
The rear camera is 13 MP which produces good photos on day light and in low light as well the performance is good. 5 MP front camera is also good for decent quality of video chat as well.

It has a great display which has good viewing angles and the display font size is such that you wont see any pixels on the this display with 720p resolution unless you read a document with large amount of text. In built memory of 8 Gb with 5 Gb approx available to the user and you also have microSD card slot in which you can insert memory card upto 128 GB as it supports SDXC cards as well. However you can not install apps on the SD card but you can move apps from phone memory to SD card. It will give you are around battery backup of one day on moderate usage, but backup will be less than one day in case you play more games and watch videos a lot on this device.
Software, Benchmarks and Gaming
It runs the latest HTC sense UI 6.0 on top of the android and the UI does have some extra features like improved Blink Feed and enhanced camera gallery. The custom UI on top of android is responsive and faster most of the times. Hardware of the device is good enough handle any HD games provided you have storage for the same, we player MC4 and Frontline Commando D day both of these games ran without any graphic lag.
