India based tech maker Swipe has announced the launch of its 5 inch smartphone called Swipe Konnect 5.0 carrying a price tag of Rs 8,999. While the company had remained quiet during the first half of this year, it has announced that 10 innovative devices will be launched in the Konnnect lineup in the next quarter.
The Swipe Konnect 5.0 boasts a Super Slim body with its stylish matte finish. This results is a light weight profile measuring only 135 grams which is indeed quite light for a 5 inch device.
The handset comes in two color variants – Black and White and the firm is providing freebies such as a flip cover, screen guard and a premium business navigator worth Rs 1,499 along with every purchase of the device.
When it comes to technical specifications, the Swipe Konnect 5.0 boasts of a 5 inch qHD IPS display packing a screen resolution of 960×540 pixels and is stuffed with a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor that is supplemented by 1 GB of RAM for smooth performance and multi-tasking. Fueled by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, the Konnect 5.0 is claimed to be upgradeable to Android 4.4 KitKat.
For imaging, the device includes an 8 MP primary snapper that comes with OmniVision sensor and LED flash. The OmniVision sensor is responsible in improving the camera resolution and the picture quality significantly. Further, there is a 3.2 MP front-facer onboard for 3G video calling. Also onboard is 8 GB of native storage space that can be expanded externally up to 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card.
The dual SIM smartphone packs a slew of standard connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS for the users to stay connected on the go. Powering the device is a 1,950 mAh battery claimed to deliver a decent backup. Interestingly, the Konnect 5.0 has a customizable UI that includes multiple effects, transitions and themes.
