Xolo has introduced the successor of Xolo Q1000 Opus, named Xolo Q1000 Opus 2, which comes with bumped up display resolution and improved imaging hardware. This time Xolo has opted for Snapdragon 200 quad core SoC instead of instead of Broadcom BCM23550 which debuted in India with Q1000 Opus.
The display remains 5 inches in size but the resolution has been improved to qHD 960 x 540, (vs FWVGA). The increase in sharpness should be noticeable on the 5 inch display.
The processor used is 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 200 MSM8212 Quad core which we recently saw in Micromax Windows Phone, Micromax Unite A092 and Elanza 2. Owing to the Qualcomm Branding, the SoC is gaining popularity in the budget price segment. It will be assisted by 1 GB RAM and hackneyed 4 GB internal storage with 32 GB MicroSD card support.
The rear camera now has an 8 MP sensor (vs 5 MP in Q1000 Opus) and you will also get a front 2 MP shooter for video calling. Rear camera can record HD videos and enjoys LED flash Support.
Inside the 9.3 mm body casing, Xolo has placed a 2000 mAh battery. Xolo Q1000 Opus recently received Android 4.4 KitKat update (which was not a pleasant experience) but Xolo Q1000 Opus 2 is still stuck on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Connectivity features include 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and GLONASS. Xolo Q1000 Opus 2 is retailing on Snapdeal for 9,780 INR.
