Xolo Q1011 Quick Review, Price and Comparison

Xolo has established itself as a slightly premium manufacturer of smartphones and its tie up with the Liverpool Football Club is only aiding its efforts to improve its brand image. Every manufacturer is launching KitKat powered smartphones in India these days and Xolo doesn’t want to left behind either. It has just launched the Q1011 with Android 4.4 KitKat for Rs 9,999 and it packs in decent specifications for the price it is asking. Let us take a quick review of its specifications.

Xolo Q1011

Camera and Internal Storage

At the back of the camera is an 8MP camera with a BSI sensor for better low light imaging and complementing it is a LED flash too. The camera is capable of shooting 1080p videos so that is quite a good thing. It is complemented by a 2MP front camera which facilitates video calling and self portrait shots.

The internal storage of the Xolo Q1011 stands at 4GB which can be expanded by another 32GB with the help of a microSD card. We would have appreciated it a bit more if it came with 8GB of internal storage capacity instead.

Processor and Battery

The Xolo Q1011 comes with a 1.3 GHz quad core processor based on Cortex A7 architecture from the stable of Mediatek and it teams up with a 1GB RAM to take charge of the multitasking department. The smartphone is expected to perform smoothly and we could not really expect anything better at this price point.

A 2,250 mAh battery is present inside the smartphone. Xolo claims that it will provide you a standby time of up to 550 hours and a talk time of up to 26.82 hours which is pretty impressive for a device at this price. It will last you for upto 509 hours on 3G networks and provide you with a talk time of up to 13.55 hours.

Display and Features

The display unit is a 5 inch one which is an IPS panel and has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It comes with One Glass Solution technology and a laminated display in order to reduce reflections and improve sunlight legibility.

It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat which is quite a good thing in our opinion. It also comes with a slew of gesture controls to give it an edge over the rest. You can access a slew of applications even when the device is in sleep mode with its help. You can draw “e” to access web browser, “c” to access dial pad and “m” to access the camera and we think these are pretty handy features and help in improving the user experience.

Comparison

It has a slew of competitors in the form of Spice Stellar 600, Intex Aqua i15, iBall Andi 5.5N2 Quadro and Micromax Canvas Beat A114R. But we think it is loaded decently well to combat those.
