Samsung has officially launched, its premium range, Slim and Sleek Galaxy Tab S8.4 in India for 37,800 INR. The tablet is definitely a high end powerhouse which sports a sharp 8.4 Inch display and Exynos Octa 5420 chipset along with 3G and Calling functionality via Micro SIM.
The 8.4 Inch Super AMOLED display is definitely the highlight of this tablet. The display has 2560 x 1600 pixels spread across it, which amounts to 359 pixels per inches, well suited to a high end phablet.
The Indian version replaces latest Exynos 5422 with Exynos 5420 which is kind of disappointing. We are not yet sure if Samsung has enabled Heterogeneous Multi processing this time for all 8 cored to function simultaneously. The chipset comes with 4 Cortex A15 cores clocked at 1.9 GHz and 4 Cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.7, aided by 3 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. Micro SD card slot is also present.
We sincerely doubt whether you will be using this form factor to satiate your primary photography needs, nonetheless, Samsung has provided with an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash capable of recording full HD videos and also a 2.1 MP front facing camera.
Other goodies include Fingerprint sensor, IR Port with remote control functionality, Built in stereo speakers and a 4900 mAh battery. The slim and sleek tablet runs on Android 4.4 KitKat based TouchWiz UI and will come with several preloaded apps and content subscriptions. Samsung has provided with Usual set of connectivity features but has not included NFC for Tab S series.
Overall, Samsung has provided a premium tablet for premium price with commendable looks and large battery. You will also get a total of 30 subscriptions and offers including 3 month subscription from 3 reputed Magzines of your choice on Tab S 8.4. The tablet will be available for purchase starting from Second week of July for Rs. 37,800.
