After teasing the launch of a selfie focused smartphone, Sony unleashed the world’s first selfie smartphoone – Sony Xperia C3 on Tuesday. The smartphone with dual SIM functionality is a mid-ranger and it features a unique front-facing snapper that is its highlight. Sony has claimed that the global availability of the handset will debut from August and it will be made available initially in China.

Well, the handset has a 5 MP front-facing snapper that features a wide angle lens to help in capturing many people in a selfie. The other features that are a part of the front camera are actually borrowed from the main cameras at the rear and they include LED flash lot better low light performance, auto mode, HDR, easy sharing with PROSelfie Cam and smile hit. Also, the camera can shoot selfie videos at HD 720p resolution.
Otherwise, the Xperia C3 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box and includes a 5 MP HD 1280×720 pixel Triluminos display with Bravia Engine 2 and utilizes a quad-core Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2 GHz paired with Adreno 305 GPU and 1 GB of RAM. Also, there is an 8 MP primary camera with autofocus and LED flash.
Both the snappers include other features such as Portrait Retouch v2, Superior Auto, Movue Creator, Picture effects, Timeshift Burst, Sweet Panorama and Social Live. Furthermore, there is a dedicated app for Vine that allows users to share 6 second videos directly from the smartphone.
Storage demands of the users are taken care of by 8 GB of internal memory capacity that can up be expanded up to 32 GB by means of a micro SD card. Under the hood is a 2,500 mAh battery that is rated to pump in a life of up to 24 hours of talk time and up to 1,071 hours of standby time with the Battery Stamina mode. The device arrives in Black, White and Mint color variants and is packed with connectivity features such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS.
