Xiaomi Mi4 with FHD Display and Snapdragon 801 CPU Goes Official

Finally, Xiaomi’s next flagship smartphone and the highly anticipated Mi4 smartphone is official. This killer smartphone is the successor of the Xiaomi Mi3 that was launched last year and it boasts a metal frame and numerous enhancements.

The Xiaomi Mi4 is fitted with a standard 5 inch IPS display that carries a FHD screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a pixel density of 441 pixels per inch that is seen in many of the flagship smartphones launched by other vendors as well. Furthermore, this screen is layered with Corning Gorilla Glass to prevent scratches and damage due to everyday usage. Also, the panel is based on one-glass-solution (OGS) made by Sharp/JDI making the device slimmer.

In terms of raw hardware, the Xiaomi Mi4 employs a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor ticking at 2.5 GHz clock speed and is supplemented with an impressive 3 GB of RAM capacity to handle multi-tasking smoothly and efficiently. The imaging requirements are taken care of by the 13 MP primary snapper that arrives with LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, Sony IMX214 BSI sensor and 4K video recording. This camera is paired with an 8 MP front-facer that also uses a Sony sensor.

Connectivity aspects on the flagship model include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS and Bluetooth. Other notable features are 16 GB or 64 GB of internal storage options that are non-expandable and a juicy 3,080 mAh battery powering it. The Mi4 is based on MIUI V6 that tops the Android 4.4 KitKat OS.

The Xiaomi Mi4 is available in Black and White color variants and the consumers can choose from a range of back covers such as marble, wooden, wove, sticks, bamboo and more. And, when it comes to pricing, the 16 GB variant of the Mi4 is priced at 1,999 Yuan (approx. Rs 19,400) while the 64 GB model costs 2,499 Yuan (approx. Rs 24,250). Moreover, it is claimed that a special 64 GB Limited Edition Bamboo variant will be made available.
