Build Quality, Design and Form Factor
Xiaomi MI3 comes with great build quality and a good design. It has metal like finish at the back with rounded edges which makes it easy to hold. The matte finish rear side gives a great grip as well in hands. Back cover of the phone cannot be removed but it feels great like metal however its better quality of plastic being used. It has a great form factor as being a 5 inch phone its fairly light at 149 grams and thickness is 8.1 mm which makes it not very thin but not very thicker as well.
Camera Performance
The rear camera is 13 MP can shoot HD video at 720p and 1080p at 30fps and can also record slow motion videos as well. Rear camera photos were great in daylight and they looked decent in low light as well. Front camera at 2 MP is capable of taking good selfie and can also be used to do HD video chat or video call.

Display, Memory and Battery Backup
It has 5 Inch 1080p IPS LCD display which looks great in terms of color reproduction and viewing angles are also good. In built memory is around 16Gb out of which around 13 GB is available to the user. You can install apps and store pictures, videos and other data on this storage.
Software, Benchmarks and Gaming
It has a custom UI called MIUI which runs on top of android and runs smoothly on the hardware of this phone, but yes does crash at times while launching some third party apps but not every time but might happen once in a while. In terms of gaming it did not disappoint us as it can handle HD games quite well without any graphic lag but heat up pretty quickly as well while gaming but still heating was not much of an issue.
Benchmark Scores
- Antutu Benchmark: 30021
- Nenamark2: 60 fps
- Multi Touch: 10 point

Sound, Video and Navigation
Loudspeaker on the device is fairly loud and clear and the design placement of the same is also good as it does not get blocked in case you place it on table. You can play HD videos without any audio or video sync issues. GPS location got locked in seconds so it worked perfectly fine with assisted GPS.

Conclusion and Price
Xiaomi Mi3 is a available as a 16gb model as if now for Rs. 13999 and you can only buy it from flipkart as it is not in retail sales in india. For the price this is one of the best phone you can buy as if now. In the first slot of the sales, around 10,000 phones were sold on flipkart. The second batch with more number of the units will start selling from 29th July 2014, the best way it go and register yourself so that you can get the device as soon as possible. Two things which we did not liked about Mi3 is heating issues which can be fixed with a patch and MiUi which needs to be fixed at certain places for which MI India has already started working as they are collecting feedbacks from the users using the Mi3 in india.
