Garmin Corporation has entered partnership with e-commerce giant Flipkart to release the Vivofit fitness band in India. This fitness device will learn the activity level of the users and customizes personalized daily goals besides displaying the steps walked, calories burnt, distance covered and monitors sleep. Furthermore, the Garmin Vivofit is also water resistant for up to 50 meters.
The device is compatible with ANT+ heart rate monitors that are used to measure the fitness activities and wirelessly sync with the compatible Bluetooth smartphones. It has two replaceable CR1632 coin cells that are rated to deliver approximately a year of battery life making it different from the rechargeable batteries in smartwatches.
Some of the key features of Garmin Vivofit include a Move Bar that motivates the users to be active throughout the day by displaying a red move bar after one hour of inactivity. Also, there are additional segments that will glow after every 15 minutes of inactivity and the users will have to simply walk for a couple of minutes to reset the same.
Otherwise, the Garmin Vivofit is a 24/7 wearable device that is stylish, comfortable and water resistant. It has a 25.5 mm x 10 mm easy to read display to view the time and the statistics on the wrist itself. It can records calories burned throughout the day including base metabolic rate, monitor sleep by setting the sleep mode while going to bed to track the quality of rest taken and wireless sync that will sync the details over Bluetooth Smart or USB ANT Stick.
The Garmin Vívofit will be exclusively available on Flipkart for Rs 9,990 and it will come in small and large sized bands in the box. The users can select between purple, teal and blue colored bands.
