Micromax A290 which we talked about a couple of days back is now officially listed on Micromax Official Website as Micromax Canvas Knight Cameo A290. The octa core smartphone is already selling for 12, 350 INR.

The IPS LCD display is 4.7 inches in size with 720p HD resolution. The design language bears semblance with iPhone and at the heart of the device, you will find MediaTek MT6592M octa core CPU ticking at 1.4 GHz.

Chipset also includes 1 GB RAM and 8 GB ROM (5.64 GB user available) which can be further extended by another 32 GB using MicroSD card. On the software front Android 4.4.2 and the icon set seems customized in the press renders.

Imaging hardware includes 8 MP AutoFocus rear shooter and a 5 MP fixed focus front camera. Camera app includes features like Cinemagraph (for gif images) and object eraser, like other Micromax high end devices. The rear camera can record 1080p full HD video.

Micromax is still sticking to 2000 mAh battery in this device as well. The battery will last for 7 hours of talk time and 180 hours of talk time, which doesn’t sound like much. Other features include 21 Mbps HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Gravity, Light, Proximity Sensor and magnetic sensor.

Micromax Canvas Knight Cameo is a budget octa core smartphone which will complete an important link in Micromax chain. The device will compete against the likes of Xiaomi Mi3, Xiaomi Redmi Note and Xolo 8X-1000.
