After a month long wait, it appears like the Xiaomi Redmi 1S will be launched in India today in the next few hours. The e-commerce giant Flipkart has already put up a listing of the handset with a ‘Coming Soon’ status on its portal tipping that the launch is imminent.
In addition to this, Mi India Facebook page has posted a teaser with a blurred image of a smartphone. With the red color of the smartphone’s display, we guess that it should be the Xiaomi Redmi 1S that has been priced at Rs 6,999.
The registration of the Redmi 1S is all set to kick start today and there are speculations that the phone will be let out for sale on August 29. While there flash sales is making it tough for the eager consumers in the country to get their hands on the Mi3 costing Rs 13,999, the availability of the Redmi 1S with a much cheaper price tag is sure to be an even tougher task.
Going by the specifications of the handset, Xiaomi has given it a 4.7 inch IPS display with a HD screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels and a 1.6 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor paired with 1 GB of RAM. Also, the Redmi 1S is packs in 8 GB of internal storage capacity along with expandable storage support. Other goodies onboard include an 8 MP primary snapper, a 1.6 MP secondary camera for video calling and a 2,000 mAh battery.
