Selfie focused smartphones are a real thing now. Sony has officially launched its Selfie centric smartphone Sony Xperia C3 Dual now in India priced at 23,990 INR. The smartphone will start retailing from September 1, 2014.
The highlighted front camera comes with a 5 MP sensor capable of 720 p video recording and aided by a 25 mm wide-angle lens with 80 degree wide field of view to help you fit more in each selfie frame. The rear 8 MP Exymor RS unit can shoot 1080p full HD videos. Both front and Rear cameras enjoy LED Flash support.
Sony Xperia C3 will be selling in Xperia T2 Ultra territory, and thus comes equipped with a phablet sized 5.5 Inch IPS LCD display with 720p HD resolution. The display also has Triluminous, Bravia Engine and other Sony terminology associated with it.
Processor used is 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 with Adreno 305 GPU, coupled with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage expandable by another 64 GB using MicroSD card support. On the software front there is customized Android 4.4 Kitkat.
The handset is only 7.6 mm thick with a moderate 150 grams of weigh and will be powered by 2500 mAh battery inside. Like always you can count of Sony Stamina mode to extend the usage time under critical conditions. Other features include Dual SIM, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
Needless to say, target audience is selfie lovers. Xperia C3 seems slightly overpriced for the hardware it offers. If you are looking for a selfie centric smartphone which will be light on your pocket, Lava is expected to launch Iris X5 soon in India.
