Lenovo Tab S8 with Android KitKat and Intel Atom CPU Goes Official

Today, Lenovo has announced the Tab S8 ahead of the IFA 2014 tech show’s commencement. The vendor is not a stranger to the tablet market and it is acclaimed the largest manufacturer of slates. Now, the Tab S8 also takes the credits for being the first Lenovo’s first Android tablet to incorporate an Intel processor under its hood, while it has come up with Windows 8.1 based Intel SoC powered devices earlier.

On the specifications front, the Lenovo Tab S8 is fitted with an 8 inch FHD IPS OGS display that carries a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The OGS panel will eliminate additional layers of the screen thereby increasing the response time and the IPS panel will render good viewing angles and a decent color reproduction.

Under the hood, the tablet comes stuffed with a 64 bit quad-core Intel Atom Z3745 processor ticking at 1.86 GHz clock speed. This processor is aided by 2 GB of RAM that should be adequate enough to take charge of multi-tasking and 16 GB of non-expandable internal storage capacity. The chop comes with the Burst Performance technology that provides processing power only on demand thereby saving the battery life when using the tablet for light tasks.

Fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, the Leveno Tab S8 boasts of an 8 MP primary snapper with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture that can render enhanced performance. At the front, the slate features a 1.6 MP selfie camera for video conferencing and clicking gorgeous self portrait shots. Other goodies onboard the Lenovo slate includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and 4,290 mAh battery capable of powering the Tab S8 for 7 hours.


On the pricing front, Lenovo has priced the Tab S8 at $199 (approx. Rs 12,000). For now, Lenovo has not revealed anything regarding the availability of the slate and we need to wait for the firm to leave out a word.
