Sony has launched its next flagship phone Sony Xperia Z3 at IFA 2014. Apart from the flagship phone Sony has also announced the Xperia Z3 Compact, Smart Band Talk with e Paper screen and calling, and Android wear based Smartwatch 3.
The Xperia Z3 has a similar 5.2 Inch display as its predecessor with 1080p full HD resolution. The Triluminous display has water resistance (IP58) and shatter proof glass layer associated with it. The design changes are not very explicit and Sony is using more rounded edges in these new set of smartphones unveiled today.
Xperia Z3 will be powered by a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor backed by 3 GB RAM and 16 GB/ 32 GB internal storage. Sony is yet again using the 20.7 MP sensor, (which is not at all a bad thing) but has used a 25 mm wide angle lens on top.
You can record 4k videos from the rear camera while the front 2.2 MP selfie cam can capture 1080p Full HD videos. The camera app adds several new filters and features as well. All hardware will be powered by a 3100 mAh battery.
The Z3 employs DSEE HX audio upscaling technology to improve the quality of compressed music, and there’s digital noise cancelling that cuts out nearly all ambient sound. Other features include 4G LTE /3G HSPA+, WiFi 820.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with APT-X, GPS/ GLONASS, MHL 3.0 and NFC. The Sony Xperia Z3 comes in Black, White, Green and Copper colors and will be available starting this Autumn for an unspecified price.
