Motorola has officially launched the successor of ultra successful Moto G (1.6 Million units sold in India) with the same Moniker as was hinted by several leaks prior to the launch event. The new Moto G aims at improving upon its predecessor by providing a larger 5 inch Display, MicroSD card slot and more detailed camera sensor, thus eliminating major Moto G week points.
It takes design cues from Moto E, including dual front speakers and the default wall paper. The 5 inch display has a similar 720p HD resolution which shoots pixel density down to 294 ppi from 326 ppi. The Display is still protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
The chipset is the same Snapdragon quad core clocked at 1.2 GHz and aided by 1 GB RAM. Motorola is offering 16 GB internal storage Dual SIM variant in India and this time a MicroSD card slot is also present for further expansion.
Imaging hardware includes 8 MP AF rear camera and a 2 MP front camera for selfies. The new Moto G can shoot HD videos from its rear camera. The dual frontal Audio speakers are present to significantly improve multimedia experience.
Battery capacity has been slightly enhanced to 2070 mAh. Other features include 3G, WiFi 80211.ac, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and GPS. Software is latest Android 4.4.4 Kitkat with Andorid L update coming later. The new Moto G will go on sale starting today exclusively on flipkart.
