When it comes to specifications, the Jivi smartphone arrives with a 3.5 inch OGS display with a HVGA resolution of 320×480 pixels and it is claimed to produce bright and vivid content. The raw hardware aspects of the smartphone include a 1 GHz processor that is stated to be capable enough to render recent multi-tasking, smooth navigation and blazing speed.

The dual SIM Jivi JSP 20 features a 2 MP primary camera at its back paired with LED flash to capture quality snaps even under low light conditions. Being a low-end smartphone, it is packed with 128 MB RAM and 256 MB internal storage space that can be externally expanded by another 32 GB using a micro SD card. Powering the device is a 1,350 mAh battery that is rated to provide 7.5 hours of media usage.

Based on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread that is a dated platform, the Jivi phone is packed with connectivity aspects such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 2G, EDGE and GPRS. The handset supports up to six languages for messaging such as English, French, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.   1. Hi Abhinaya, surely with only 128MB of RAM and such an old version of Android the JSP 20 is certain to run terribly? I can’t see how it would give a better user experience than the 2,000 rupee Firefox OS phones?

    • If you are biased, you might even find faults with an iPhone! The proof is in the pudding, my friend. Buy it, use it and then comment. This is an entry phone for first time smartphone users. It is sure to get them hooked to the smartphone experience. It will revolutionise the Indian market and help increase internet penetration and even ecommerce. Firefox OS is new, unstable and not as widely tested as Android. And the variety of apps available for Android will outshine the FF OS any day. the days of FF are over.
