Salora international has launched a new brand, Arya in India, with their first phone being Arya Z2. The budget android smartphone has been priced at 6,999 INR and surely exhibits the aggressiveness expected from a new entrant.
Salora internationals have experience in manufacturing smartphones and tablets for other well known brands and thus they aren’t exactly new to the game. The Arya Z2 flaunts a sparkling spec sheet for a reasonable price and will retail on Amazon.in starting this Monday.
Packed inside a 7.55 mm slim chassis is an IPS LCD Display panel, 5 inches in size with 720p HD resolution. In our initial time with the device the display seemed quite decent with good colors and viewing angles.
The chipset is popular 1.3 GHz MT6582 quad core with 1 GB RAM and 4 GB ROM. MicroSD card expansion is also an option and an 8 GB MicroSD card will come bundled with the device.
The Arya Z2 has an 8MP (Interpolated to 13MP) auto-focus camera with a Sony BSI sensor and LED flash. For selfies, there is a 2 MP front shooter. The rear camera can record full HD videos. All hardware will be powered by an 1800 mAh battery, which will last for 8 hours of 3G talk time according to the company. Other features include EDGE, GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB OTG Connectivity. On the software front, the phone runs on latest Android 4.4 KitKat.
Arya smartphone is backed by SALORA’s own established service network from “SILCARE” which has over 250 service centers across 189 cities pan India. If you are still cynical and hesitant, Salora also promises 7 days guaranteed customer complain resolution .
Commenting on the launch of the Arya Z2, Mr. Gopal Jiwarajka, CMD, Salora International Limited said “We are delighted to bring such a feature and spec rich device, at an aggressive price, to the Indian customer. Our partnership with Amazon and the service network we have across India, allows us to offer immense value to customers pan India. We intend to expand our portfolio in the next few months.”
Arya 2 combines the best specs you can expect for the asking price of 6,999 INR. It sounds like a worthy competitor to the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 1s and Zenfone 4.5, at least on paper. Being a new brand, the company also offers ample assurance for quality after sales support. Let’s wait and watch how much acceptance the brand gets in fierce Indian budget Android Market.
