GetActive, a leading India based firm involved in the manufacturing of wearable technology has launched GetActive tapp. This is a Bluetooth enabled tracker that keeps a tab on the user’s personal health and activity and it is priced at Rs 4,999. If you are interested in this fitness tracker, you can buy it exclusively from the e-commerce portal Myntra.
The GetActive tapp tracker keeps a check on the everyday physical activity of the user by tracking the steps taken in one day, distance covered in ‘km’ and calories burnt apart from notifying about the non-sedentary time spent. The wearable device uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to automatically interact with the user’s mobile phones and it can be synced with a smartphone to provide the fitness statistics.
Interestingly, GetActive provides reward points for every step that the user takes and it can be redeemed via GetActive’s partner ecosystem.
Regarding the launch, Mohammed Hussain Naseem, founder and CEO of 2mpower Health Management Services, which owns GetActive said, “Our goal is to create an active India, where individuals walk towards their well being. Today, 10 million steps are clocked everyday on GetActive platform. Our aim is to increase this count to 100 billion steps in the next 30 months. Currently we have 15,000 users who have become our advocates. Our goal is to increase this number to 100,000 with the launch of the app.”
Also, 2mpower Health Management Services is backed by former Infosys board member and chairman of Manipal Global Education Mohandas Pai and he said, “Wearable technology has seen good traction in the US markets and rates high in the mind of Indian consumers. I see an immense opportunity in this sector.”
