The tech world is eagerly waiting to witness the launch of the Nexus lineup of devices for the year and the rumored list includes the HTC made Nexus 9 tablet codenamed Volantis. Though there have been numerous leaks regarding the tablet earlier, a latest leak is claimed to have come up with the first image of the device.
Twitter user @upleaks that has a good record of revealing HTC related information such as the 13 MP dual cameras on the Desire Eye smartphone has leaked the image of the Nexus 9. The tablet appears to be bigger and sqaurish in comparison to the previous generation models and it boasts of matte finish at its back as on the other Nexus devices. The camera appears to have LED flash and there is a micro USB port at the bottom.
In a related report by AndroidPolice, the Nexus 9 tablet has been approved by FCC certification tipping that its launch is close by. Though the website does not reveal any specifications of the tablet, it is speculated that the device will arrive with an 8.9 inch Quad HD display and employ a Nvidia Tegra K1 SoC backed by 2 GB of RAM. It is likely to arrive with an 8 MP primary camera with OIS and include a 3 MP front facing snapper.
There are speculations that the Nexus 9 will go official alongside the Nexus 6 and Android L platform on October 16. We will have to wait to know the other regarding this tablet.
