Xolo Opus HD Quick Review, Price and Comparison

Xolo is one of the India based manufacturers that is coming up with constant enhancements with smartphones in all the segments. The Opus lineup of smartphones from the vendor was in the headlines lately as it received the Android 4.4 KitKat update. Now, Xolo has announced yet another offering in the series with the launch of Xolo Opus HD for a pricing of Rs 9,499. Here is a quick review on the smartphone to know its capabilities.

Camera and Storage

The primary camera on the Xolo Opus HD is an 8 MP BSI 2 sensor with the ability to shoot FHD 1080p video recording. The BSI 2 sensor will substantially increase the low light sensitivity. Moreover, the device features a 2 MP front-facing selfie camera onboard that will help in making video conferencing and clicking self portrait shots. These camera aspects are acceptable for the pricing of the handset.

The internal storage is standard at 8 GB that is becoming the trend of entry-level and mid-range smartphones these days. This storage capacity can be expanded up to 32 GB by means of an expansion card slot.

Processor and Battery

The Xolo phone is equipped with a 1.2 GHz quad-core Broadcom processor coupled with Videocore graphics engine that was used in the Opus Q1000. The chipset uses a NEON technology that makes it capable of supporting numerous video codecs providing a faster multimedia performance. Also, the processor is pretty power efficient conserving the battery life effectively. A 1 GB of RAM joins the processor in delivering superior multi-tasking capabilities.

The battery capacity of the Opus HD phone is 2,500 mAh that is rated to provide a backup of up to 9 hours of talk time on 3G networks and up to 7 hours of Wi-Fi web browsing. This makes the battery pretty decent for the pricing of the device and we cannot expect more from a sub Rs 10,000 price bracket.

Display and Features

The Xolo Opus HD flaunts a 5 inch HD IPS LCD display that has a screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The IPS panel should suffice in rendering decent viewing angles and user experience for the pricing of the device.

With Android 4.4.2 KitKat platform, the Xolo smartphone is packed with the standard connectivity features such as dual SIM support, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.

Comparison

The Xolo Opus HD will be a rival to the smartphones such as Zenfone 5Lava Iris X1, Intex Aqua Style Pro, Celkon Millennium Vogue Q455 and others.
