Samsung Galaxy A5 and A3 with full Metal Unibody Design Announced

Samsung Galaxy A5 and A3 are now official, a bit ahead of the expected arrival, brandishing Korean giant’s new found love for metal. With these mid range smartphones, Samsung goes ‘unibody’ offering several different color options to choose from.

This is first time Samsung is letting go of its stubbornness and opting for a full Aluminum body (instead of metallic frame and plastic back). This also means for the first time battery is not removable. Both A5 and A3 look identical and are extremely slim at 6.5 mm and 6.7 mm respectively.

Samsung Galaxy A5 features 5 Inch Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 p HD resolution, 294 ppi, powered by 1.2 GHz quad core processor, backed by 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. MicroSD card slot has made the cut and you can have up to 64 GB expandable storage.

Software is Android 4.4 KitKat and there is a primary 13 MP rear camera capable of full HD video recording. Other features include 5 MP front camera, 4G LTE/3G, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/ GLONASS and a 2300 mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy A3 is the smaller sibling with a 4.5 Inch qHD 960 x 540 pixel Super AMOLED display. It’s powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core processor with 16 GB internal storage, but, RAM has been reduced to 1 GB.

Primary photography will be handled by 8 MP rear camera, capable of 1080p full HD video recording. Other features include MicroSD card slot (64 GB), 5 MP front camera, 4G LTE/3G, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/ GLONASS and a 1900 mAh battery.

Both phones will be available in several color options including Pearl White, Midnight Black, Platinum Silver, Soft Pink, Light Blue and Champagne Gold color and will roll out in selected markets starting November 2014.
