Xiaomi to Launch a $65 Smartphone with 2 GHz Hexa Core Processor and HD Display

If you think Xiaomi Redmi 1S was pushing tech to its limits at 5,999 INR, think again. Xiaomi is reportedly working on a $65 smartphone (about 4,000 INR). We don’t know much about this upcoming phone, but yes Xiaomi will be using a lesser known but powerful Leadcore processor to power this device.

Based on power efficient 28 nm process, the leadcore LC1860 chip has 6 Cortex A7 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz, and is powerful enough to fuel a 2K Display. The SoC also supports both TDD LTE and FDD LTE, thus making upcoming Xiaomi smartphone the cheapest LTE enabled device so far. Graphics will be handled by Mali T628 GPU.

Xiaomi will be using 1 GB RAM and 720p HD display similar to Xiaomi Redmi 1s even it this ultra low cost smartphone. Xiaomi continues to make waves in home town China as well as International market with the upcoming smartphones.

Xiaomi is also working on another low cost tablet with 64 bit Snapdragon 410 quad core processor, 9.2 Inch HD display, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB native storage and Android 4.4.4 KitKat.


With general market momentum shifting towards low cost devices, there is no stopping Xiaomi! The Company became the third largest smartphone vendor in the entire world, which is impressive because it operates in very few markets.
