Lumia 638, which was first introduced in China earlier this year has now arrived in India priced at 8,299 INR. This is the first Lumia smartphone in India to support 4G LTE (Cat 4) connectivity and will retail exclusively on Microsoft Brand Store at Amazon.in. Unlike Microsoft Lumia 535, this one retains ‘Nokia’ branding on both front and back cover.
Lumia 638 comes fitted with a 4.5 Inch IPS LCD display with usable FWVGA resolution and is powered by 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad core SoC, backed by 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage. This can be further expanded by another 128 GB using MicroSD card slot.
Lumia 638 is running the latest Windows Phone 8.1 software with Lumia Denim update preinstalled. For photography, there is only one 5 MP AF camera module stacked on the rear surface. Battery capacity is 1830 mAh .
Preloaded software includes new Microsoft Enterprise feature pack, Microsoft Office, OneDrive, HERE Maps and Drive+. Other features include 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and SensorCore for low power motion sensing.
Lumia 638 consumers on Airtel Post-paid in Bengaluru can enjoy up to 5 GB of free data on 4G for 2 months post activation of their Airtel SIM on the new Lumia 638. The offer stands valid till 31st March 2015.
