Build Quality, Design and Form Factor
It feels good in terms of build quality for the price, finishing of material and quality of plastic is also good. Its nicely designed and feels good to hold in hand and also have a good one handed usage as well. In terms of form factor it does not feel heavy or bulky to carry in one hand.
Camera Performance
The rear 5MP AF camera can take decent long shots and good macro shots in day light and low light performance is slightly average. The rear camera can also record can record 720p video. The front ( 2MP FF ) camera can also record HD videos at 720p, the front camera selfie photos were pretty good what you get at this price point.
Display and Battery Backup
It has got 4.5 Inch of display with 540 x 960 pixels resolution which gives good clarity on readable text on this display. Its an IPS TFT display with decent viewing angles and color reproduction is decent if not too good. Display is sensitive to finger touch with 5 point multi touch and it does not have scratch resistant screen protection glass.
Salora Arya A1 Plus comes with 2000 mAh battery which can last for a day most of the times. You can get around 1 day of battery backup with basic to moderate usage on this phone. For heavy users battery can last upto 3 to 4 hours on continuous usage.
Memory, Storage and OTA Update
It comes loaded with 8 Internal Storage and 1GB RAM. You will get around 450 MB free RAM on first boot once you setup the phone which can be used to install and run moderate and some heavy graphic games and apps. Out of 8GB storage, you get 5 GB available to user for installing apps and games. You can move apps or games from phone memory to SD card. OTG can always help with low storage issues and it is supported. You will get OTA update but when, there is no info about that available, we will keep you posted as soon as we get to know anything.
Software, Benchmarks and Gaming
Salora Arya A1 Plus runs a less customized on top of android which is responsive and shows no lag in normal usage. We played Temple Run OZ, Blood and Glory and Asphalt 8, for the first two games we could play them well without any lag or frame drops. For Asphalt 8 in high visual mode we experienced slight amount of lag but with moderate graphics we could play these games smoothly without any issues. Game onscreen controls were accessible and touch screen was responsive while playing games.
Sound, Video and Navigation
Sound from loudspeaker was loud to hear but not the loudest we have heard. FHD videos 720p can play fine without any issues and 1080p also get played fine or may not play but you can play them with third party video players like MX Players etc. GPS navigation works fine, it locked GPS coordinates quickly in seconds outdoors but indoors it may take time depending on signal strength.
