Salora E4 Dual Quick Review, Price and Comparison

Entry level android smartphones do not offer the richest Android experience, but they do have their own market in India. With increasing competition, 2015 might pump in more life in this seemingly downtrodden smartphone segment and Salora attempts to do so with its Salora E4 Dual. Let’s take a look at the hardware.

Camera and Internal Storage

The rear camera has a 3.2 MP sensor and a 1.3 MP sensor is also present on the front side for selfies. Judging by the MP count, you can appreciate the presence of anything more than VGA camera on the front side at this price point, but it won’t be wise to expect too much in the photography department. LED flash support is also present for the rear camera.

Internal storage is 4 GB out of which around 2 GB is available at user end. You can also use up to 32 GB of secondary MicroSD card storage to store all your media files. Since most smartphones offer 512 MB storage in this price segment, E4 Dual won’t disappoint in this regard.

Processor and Battery

E4 Dual uses a 1.5 GHz dual core chipset with 512 MB RAM, which is again better than 256 MB RAM smartphones that we usually see in this segment. The chipset should be good enough for basic usage which includes making phone calls, watching a few videos and a couple of social networking apps running in the background.

Battery capacity is 2000 mAh, which should last for considerable time considering the 4 Inch display size and dual core chipset. We expect this to comfortably last 1 day with low to moderate usage.

Display and Other Features

The display is 4 Inches in size. It’s perhaps the cheapest phone to offer IPS LCD display panel, characterized by wide viewing angles and better brightness. The display resolution hasn’t been specified yet, but we are guessing it should be a WVGA panel.

The phone supports smart motion gestures, which means you can draw ‘m’ on black screen to launch music player, ‘C’ for dialer, O for camera and more. E4 Dual is a Dual SIM handset and both SIM cards (normal sized) support 3G and 2G connectivity.

Comparison

Salora E4 Dual will compete against phones like Lava Iris 350, Karbonn A50 and Jivi JSP 20 in India.
