At its ongoing Asia event in Bangkok, Huawei today presented Talkband B2, which is a hybrid between fitness tracker and Bluetooth headset. There are three versions to choose from – Black, Silver and Gold with leather brown straps.
It does all you would expect from a fitness tracker. You can count your steps, track your sleep and let you know calories burnt and distance traveled on its 0.73 Inch touchscreen display. The AMOLED display lights up when you move your wrist. Using its 6 axis sensor, it tracks walking, running and Cycling separately.
All tech is housed in the removable capsule, which you can pop out, when you want to use it as a Bluetooth headset. This certainly makes more sense than talking to your watch or any other wearable. The Plastic strap Black and Silver variants are IP67 water resistant certified can be taken for a swim, the gold variant is splash resistant.
Huawei TalkBand B1 can connect to Android 4.0+ and iOS 7+ devices using Bluetooth 4.0. There is a 79 mAh battery inside, which Huawei claims can last for 7 hours of talk time and 5 days of average usage. Huawei TalkBand B2 will be available in India in next one month and pricing information will be revealed only then.
