We have heard rumors, and have watched a teaser and now we have an official Invite which confirms arrival of Xolo Black, the new online retail sub-brand, in India on 10th July 2015.
The upcoming smartphone will sell exclusively on Flipkart, will be running Android 5.0 Lollipop based Hive 1.5 UI, will have a unibody design and will have a dual rear camera setup as cagily implied by the tag line ‘ Dono Ankhein kholo’
The dual rear camera design on the first Xolo black smartphone will definitely give it the necessary hype and publicity, but we will have to wait to find out if it is indeed an ‘eye opener’ or just more gimmick. Xolo Black will reportedly include a metal frame, smudge and stain free design, 4G LTE and will be priced below 10,000 INR.
Offline market is huge, but with the arrival of companies like Xiaomi, YU and others, online market has evolved and developed into a powerful and separate entity, which is doing well especially in major cities.
Lenovo stepped in the online game and managed to sell 1 million 4G phones in a few months time. It is only wise for domestic manufacturers to sincerely consider the online route, besides their existing offline distribution network.
