Leaked: First Look At CyanogenMod 12.1 On Zuk Z1 International Version

Chinese flagship smartphone, the Zuk Z1 was launched in China last month. The Zuk has been backed by the folks at Lenovo and Cyanogen, the phone has had our eyes following it since its release.


In China, the phone was launched with its own ZIUI skin running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, where the international version is customized exclusively by Cyanogen. Its your chance to see whats there with the Zuk Z1, we have brought the first look of much awaited international version of Zuk Z1 powered by the exclusive Cyanogen CM 12.1.

As stated by Zuk earlier, “The international version will be slightly different, it will be using the same hardware but box packing and OS will be different. The ZUK Z1 (International version) will run Cyanogen OS 12.1 out of the box based on Android 5.1.1.”

The CM ROM 12.1 has been upgraded on Sep 15th, here is a preview of how the Cyanogen CM 12.1 will look like on ZUK Z1.

The menu looks neatly assembled and icons are placed alphabetically. The translucent menu background gives you a mild view of your wallpaper. You can scroll to different apps with the help of the alphabet scroll at the bottom; simply put your thumb on the initial alphabet of your app and reach to the app directly. The menu has sliding switch control, which can be related to the one found in the iOS menu. At the top right in the settings, you can find a search tool to look for desired setting options swiftly. This is just an initial observation according to the leaks, we will try to give you more updates on this really soon as we get to see the device.

Adding up to its powerful configuration, there’s a lot to like about the ZUK Z1, it has a USB Type-C port with support for audio output, a huge 4,100 mAh battery, a multi-function fingerprint reader and a tempting 1,799 Yuan (approx. INR 18,500) sticker price.

After the official partnership between Cyanogen and Zuk, Zuk announced their first flagship device Z1 with Cyanogen OS. The Z1 became an instant success with more than 2 million pre-orders in one week. Be on the lookout for the Z1 in mid-October. As per the info we have from the company it will come to india as well but it may take time around 3 months from now.
