Pebble Technology corp., the Kickstarter backed company was the first one to come up with the first ever smartwatch in 2012, and the company has finally launched its range of products in India today. The product line-up consists of 4 smartwatches starting at INR 5,999 for Pebble classic. Other smartwatches include the Pebble Time for INR 9,999, Pebble Time Round for INR 13,599 and the Pebble Time Steel at INR 15,999.
Pebble watches were already available for purchase for Indian consumers via the official Pebble website called pebble.com but the prices were high because of the custom duties and the payment were to be done in USD. With the launch of these smartwatches, Pebble has also announced that these watches can be purchased exclusively on Amazon.in from today onwards.
An amazing feature of the Pebble smartwatches is the always-on display with e-paper or e-ink technology, which causes least harm to eyes and also works with minimal battery power. Pebble offers over 13,000 apps and watch faces for your watch within the dedicated app store. The Pebble Range of smartwatches are compatible with Android 4.0.3 and higher, and iOS 8 and higher.
Pebble Classic
It comes with a plastic body and silicon straps which makes it durable and light. It can resist water up to 50 meters and offers a battery life up to seven days. It also notifies when you receive an e-mail SMS, calls, offers music controls and also keeps a check on your calendar. It is available at INR 5,999 and the colour options include- white, pink, black and red.
Pebble Time
If compared to Classic, it is a slightly advanced product from the company. It comes with an aluminum frame and silicon straps and a 1.25 inch coloured display. It can resist water up to 30 meters and offers a battery life up to seven days. It does everything that you will find on the Pebble Classic, but it also has a built in mic for voice notes and dictation and some additional fitness features. . It is available at INR 9,999 and the colour options include- white, black and red.
Pebble Time Round
The Pebble Time Round comes with a rounded display. It is said to be their lightest and thinnest smartwatch till now. The size is just 14mm and it is available in black and silver color options, which certainly tells that it is targeted towards the females. Pebble claims that it can offer a full day of battery backup with 15 minutes of charge. In total, it can offer 2 days of battery backup on single charge. It has all the features found in Pebble Time, but the looks and design take the prices up to 13,599. It is available in Siver and Black colour options.
Pebble Time Steel
This one is similar to the Pebble Time in terms of features and functionality. Features that make it pricey are the stainless steel frame, bezel and leather like strap. It offers battery life of up to 10 days, 1.25-inch color E-paper display with LED backlight and water resistance of up to 30 meters. It is available for INR 15,999 in black, silver and gold colours.
