6 reasons to buy LeEco Le 2

Premium Build

This is one of the best premium looking device in the mid-range segment. It comes with a full metal uni-body design which is very appealing to the eyes. The device is well built and feels really premium to hold in hand. The sides are kind of curved which makes it really comfortable to hold in hands. It has also got chamfered edges which again looks really premium. It is also fairly slim with 7.5mm of thickness. Overall look and feel of the device is really good due to its premium build quality.

Performance

This phone comes with a Snapdragon 652 Octa-core processor. It is a new 64-bit chipset which was recently introduced by Qualcomm. This processor is a beast in terms of performance and the performance is pretty much comparable to some of the high-end devices. It can run any heavy app or any graphics intensive game with an ease. Unlike other chipsets, the 652 doesn’t heat up during heavy usage. And for multitasking, the device comes with 3 GB of RAM which is enough for day-to-day usage.

The device comes with a 16 MP primary camera with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture on the rear and an 8 MP with f/2.2 aperture on the front. The focus is pretty quick and the pictures came out to be really great with great detail and vibrant colors during day-light shots. Low light shots were also fairly decent. The front cam takes really detailed selfies. The rear cam can also shoot 4K videos at 30fps and slow motion 720p (HD) videos with 120fps. It has also got dual-tone LED flash for low light photography. Overall the camera performance was quite good and you won’t be disappointed.

It has got a IR Blaster which lets you to control your Television, AC, set-up boxes etc via your phone. Generally mid-range and even high-end devices skip this feature but it’s good to see that LeEco decided to include this sensor. It comes with an inbuilt app to control all your devices.

Now since we are done with the reasons to buy, now lets have a look at the reasons not to buy this device

No 3.5 mm Jack

By the launch of Le 2 and Le Max 2, LeEco decided to ditch the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack and move to the USB Type-C headphone jack. That means you won’t be able to use the 3.5mm jack headphones any longer. Though you get a headphone adapter (USB Type-C to 3.5mm audio jack connector) bundled with the phone to connect your 3.5mm jack headphones. The USB Type-C doubles up as the headphone jack that also means that you won’t be able to listen music while charging. Though it also comes with a newer technology called CDLA but most of the users may be disappointed with this new headphone port.

3000 mAh Battery

Considering it has got a Full HD 5.5 inch (1080p) display, the 3000mAh battery feels kinda low. It can juice the device for a whole day if you are a normal user. But if you are kind of heavy user, then you may have to look for the charger by the end of the day. Although fast charging helps a bit, but a higher capacity battery would have been appreciated here.

No Expandable Storage

The LeEco Le 2 comes with an in-built storage of 32GB which is sadly not expandable. Though for most of the users, non-expandable storage isn’t a big thing to worry about. But the people who keep lots of videos contents and love to shoot via phone’s camera may run out of memory which is kind of disappointing.
