Samsung launched the new Note-series device, Galaxy Note 7 today in India. The global launch took place on 2nd August in New York and Samsung unveiled everything about the phone. The new Note 7 comes with lot of improvements, new features and upgrades. It is priced at INR 59,900 and will be available in Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium and Black Onyx colour options. Sadly the Blue Coral variant has not made its way to India till now.


It comes with a 5.7-inch quad-HD resolution curved AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood, it runs a Exynos 8890 Octa-core chipset clocked at 2.3GHz coupled with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. It has got 64GB of inbuilt memory which is further expandable up to 256GB via dedicated card slot. Something that feels amazing is the added IP68 certification to the phone and the S pen, as it adds a unique factor to Samsung smartphones.

The Galaxy Note 7 features a similar 12MP, f1.7 camera with Optical Image Stabilization and Dual-pixel autofocus camera as seen on the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. On the front, it has got a 5MP, f1.7 front camera. It is backed by a 3500mAh non-removable battery which supports fast and wireless charging. It features the new USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.

This time, the Note 7 has got the IP68 certification which makes it a water and dust resistant device like Galaxy S7. The phone runs on the latest Android Marshmallow 6.0 with Touchwiz UI on top. Now the new S Pen comes with a 0.7mm tip with improved precision and pressure sensitivity. Now we can create GIF images by smart select option via S Pen and there’s a new feature introduced called Always-ON display.

Apart from the regular Fingerprint Scanner, it has also got new IRIS scanning technology which unlocks the device by scanning your eyes. You can also secure the folders via IRIS scanner. It has got a dedicated sensor on the front for IRIS unlocking. It is 7.9mm thick with the weight of 169 grams.
