Samsung has formally announced the Galaxy A 2017 series of smartphones. Under the Galaxy A sub-brand, the Korean giant has launched the Galaxy A3 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017). These three phones will cover three different price segments and are going to succeed the Galaxy A 2016 series.
Apart from the regular set of specs, all the three Galaxy A 2017 phones announced come with IP68 certification. This means these phones come with water and dust resistance. Apart from that, they also feature a metallic design and a 3D glass back, making the phones look much more premium compared to the 2016 range.
Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) Specs
The Galaxy A3 (2017) is the most affordable smartphone among the three. It comes with a 4.7 inch Super AMOLED display featuring HD resolution. You get a pixel density of ~312 PPI, which is very decent for a budget smartphone. The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with TouchWiz on top.
Powering the phone is an octa-Core Exynos 7870 processor with Mali-T830 GPU. The phone features 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. You can expand the internal storage up to 256 GB using a microSD card.
The Galaxy A3 (2017) comes with a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and full HD recording support. On the front, you get an 8 MP camera.

Powering the phone is an octa-Core Exynos 7880 processor with Mali-T830 GPU. The phone features 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. You can expand the internal storage up to 256 GB using a microSD card.
The Galaxy A5 (2017) comes with a 16 MP rear camera with LED flash and full HD recording support. It comes with a 16 MP camera on the front as well.

Samsung has not revealed complete details about the pricing and availability of these phones. The phones will be first made available in Russia this month, with expansion in other markets to follow soon thereafter.
