CES 2017: Xiaomi Mi MIX White Colour Variant Announced

Xiaomi has kicked off the CES 2017 with a bunch of launches and one of the prominent launches is its Mi MIX White colour variant. The Mi MIX was first introduced as a limited edition model back in October 2016. The phone was designed in collaboration with French designer Philippe Stark.

According to Hugo Barra, Global VP at Xiaomi, the white variant of the phone will be shipping to China later this year. The pricing is not revealed at the launch event and is expected to be revealed around the local launch.

The Mi MIX was offered in two variants – 4GB RAM / 128GB storage, tagged at approximately Rs 34,500 while the other option was 6GB RAM / 256GB storage priced at around Rs 39,500. But, both these options were available only in black color option. The highlight of the much-talked phone is its bezel-less display with curved edges on top with 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio. The other prominent feature is its piezoelectric acoustic ceramic earpiece speaker and the ultrasonic proximity sensor.

The other specifications of the phone include a 6.4-inch display with (1080 X 2040) pixels resolution, 362ppi pixel density and 94% NTSC color gamut. Powering it is a 2.35 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 64-bit processor with Adreno 530 GPU. Accompanying the processor are present 2 RAM and storage options – 4GB DDR4 RAM with 128 GB internal storage and 6GB RAM with 256GB internal storage.


The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and supports Dual SIM (nano + nano). Camera duties are 16MP rear with dual-tone LED Flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording while the front has a 5MP unit. The phone also features a fingerprint sensor, and other standard amenities like 3.5mm audio jack, 192Hz/ 24-bit DAC chip.

The list of connectivity options includes 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.⅘ GHz) MU-MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB Type-C, and NFC. Fueling the phone is its 4400mAh battery pack and the smartphone also bears ambient light sensor, electronic compass, barometer, and gyroscope.

There is no word of the phone coming to Indian market yet but, we can expect some other offering to the Indian market from this Chinese tech giant.
